In the United States, they love shrimp. In fact, shrimp is the most consumed seafood in that wonderful country. No wonder a sushi chef there came up with the idea of using them as an ingredient in sushi. He made a variation on the California Roll, namely the Boston Roll. I was inspired by that recipe and made a luxury version of it with just that little bit different bite and just that little bit fuller flavor!
This recipe is part of my Masterclasss Online Sushi Course which contains 33 high-end sushi rolls. So, this is a ‘must see and try’ preview especially for you! 🙂

Boston Roll de Luxe recipe
For the sushi roll, use a handful of cooked shrimp. Pat them dry with some kitchen paper to get the excess moisture out. Next, cut the shrimp into small pieces and then place everything in a bowl. Add in a little Japanese mayonnaise, some cream cheese like Philadelphia or Mascarpone. Season with a touch of delicious black pepper. Stir all the ingredients together until you get a nice texture.

Now we are going to make the rest of the filling. Take a cucumber and cut it into small strips. Next, cut some slices from a ripe avocado and set aside.
Take half a sheet of nori and spread a thin layer of sushi rice on it. Then turn your nori over and place the filling consisting of your shrimp mixture, the strips of cucumber and the avocado slices. Pick up your bamboo mat and now roll your sushi until it is the desired shape.

Open your jar of red Tobiko (What is Tobiko) and spread these delicious fish eggs over your roll. Use a teaspoon and your hands. The red Tobiko has a slight chile pepper accent which is perfect for shrimp not only in color, but also in taste.

Finally, place a piece of cling film over your roll and use your bamboo mat to press everything down well. Now wet your knife slightly and cut the roll into 8 equal pieces. Carefully remove the cling film from your roll and throw it away. Then place all the sushi pieces on a plate.
Add some wasabi along with some pickled ginger. Serve your ‘Boston Roll de Luxe’ sushi with some delicious soy sauce and enjoy!
